When Renova treatinoin cream made it’s debut over 15 years ago, it was the only external treatment in the world that got the coveted FDA stamp of approval for wrinkle treatment. And guess what, 15 years later, it’s still the only anti-aging cream out there with this certification! So why waste your money on those other anti-wrinkle product scams, when this one is actually proven to be effective! And now with generic Renova, not only is it the best treatment, but also the most cost-effective.
The great thing about tretinoin cream is that it basically offers a 3-in-1 approach to combat those ugly wrinkles. First of all it helps to prevent the formation of new wrinkles, so it’s a great preventative measure. Secondly, it helps to diminish the appearance of existing crows feet, fine lines, and more. The third benefit of it is that it also helps with skin care hyperpigmentation; it will help fade out a pesky facial age spot or other dark spots that seem to just pop up out of nowhere as we age.
How does tretinoin work?
Well, the short and sweet version of the answer is that it intensifies the rate at which your old skin cells are replaced with new ones. So in other words, I like to look at it as taking exfoliation to the extreme! When you were a kid, your skin also did this at a higher rate than what it does now. Now don’t get this wrong, I’m not saying it turns your skin into that of a child… I’m just saying that the cycle is more similar to that of younger person.
What is it made out of?
Years ago when I discovered what Renova tretinoin cream was made out of (and all tretinoin products for that matter) I found it to be a huge relief. You see I don’t really like putting too many manmade and artificial substances which were concocted in a laboratory into my body. Now obviously Renova cream is manmade, but the active ingredient in it is a rather simple acid formulation of vitamin A. So when I found that out, I felt relieved that I was not putting some kind of crazy or untested thing on my face.
Is it safe?
I have heard that tretinoid is the most studied anti-aging ingredient in the world. Now I don’t know if this is true or not, but I do know it has been tested thoroughly many, many times over the years, including in FDA trials. The one big warning I could find though is that if you are pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant, or breast feeing a baby you should definitely not use this product. This same warning applies to other high dosage vitamin A treatments such as accutane, too. But if you’re at the age you’re treating wrinkles, your baby days are probably over!
How to use Renova?
Well I’m no doctor, so your exact treatment plan is something you should discuss with a dermatologist or other qualified physician. But I will talk about some common ways it is typically used. But first you should really know that this is an extremely powerful medication, and they say to only apply a very thin layer on your face, usually at bedtime. The “less is more” approach is a good idea here. If you apply too much (or too strong of a concentration) your skin will just be irritated way too much.
For this reason, I started with a least powerful strength and I know many people do the same. From what I know Renova 0.02 is the least powerful. Because it increases your sensitivity to the sun, it’s extremely important to use a sun screen at all times. As what’s common with most, the first few weeks I used Renova tretinoin cream I had irritation. But then after that I was just left with more soft and even-toned skin, and most impressive of all, less wrinkles!
